Alright, alright so I have been 'missing in action' for a while there - but I do have some bloody good reasons of which I now feel strong enough to share with you all....
The new job has been really grand. More busy than expected and certainly keeping me on my toes for sure. Working with Brendan, Bob & Shirley is certainly a giggle.
Currently surveying the grounds of a country house hotel (Lyndford Hall) out near Thetford way which is both knackering and fun to be working doing something I love again.
Then we also have the good news (well for him) That 'nibs' has his posting to Afghanistan in September - which is better than the Feb /March I was initially expecting. I am very proud of the fact he is very good at scouts and will in no doubt do a superb job when over there and all will be well. But to go for a whole bleeding year is gonna pretty much cripple me.
Well at least he will be home for his 40th birthday in May which is nice. He has also already had his birthday boots he was after, as his pressie from me.
So what other amazing things have I been up to in the last two weeks???
Oh yes - now I remember, that will be the fact that I managed to stop smoking on New Years Eve... and am still two weeks later off the weed...well I'll be!
And have I done the usual dosed up with nicotine replacement products, chewing on foul tasting gum, sucking on manky mints are are not actually really minty? No I have not... I have finally found something that made me want to just stop cold turkey which wasn't just for me.
I stopped because I want to spend as much time with nibs as physically possible. even looking up on occasion saying;
"I really like this one, can I keep him please?"
If he goes and gets splatted in Afghanistan, I am straight back on them again just to spite, in fact I might even take up cigars and a pipe as well to really prove the point that life is a right cunt sometimes.
