My quote of the week has been:

This week, yes has been mad as batshit. No denying it.
Rushed off my feet. Running round like a headless chicken type thing and yes, I am still utterly knackered but one quote this week to the big boss man did actually make him laugh:
I was describing to him how the job I am doing (which is a two man job) was giving me a weenie bit of squit & thanks to the very unhelpful people within the company who can only see part the end of their noses it seems.

I used the quote as pinched from a film:

I'm drowning & every tosser around here is describing the water to me.

Don't get me wrong. I am plenty capable of getting it done but need to allow it will take time to set up being allowed this but I will in the next week utilise our 'girls' in the office to start inputting information onto the system we now have.

Only one down side. I am more tired than a sloth with a big fat one.

Knackered

Just thought I would a brief update as the complete lack of ability to spend even 10 minutes on-line these days.
I'm bloody sure there will be a freaky weirdo support group somewhere in the world that caters for such tat.

Life itself has taken a weeny bit of a back burner due to work. Not that I am complaining, its keeping me busy for sure. Could sleep for a bleeding week I'm that knackered.

So yes, I am alive (just) and once the worst of this random backlog is sorted normal service will resume. In other words the light at the end of the tunnel IS there but its like a shite LED torch at the moment.

It's official. I have broken my arse.

Ok, so maybe not 'officially' but after yesterday's madness 1st thing trying to re-jiggle some forklift prongs & shuffle some chunky bits of concrete about, I have managed to pull preeety much my complete arse & inside thigh muscles.

You would not believe how bloody pain it is!
I've spent today waddling about like I've had a crap in my pants & moaning profusely on standing & sitting down.
Bugger bloody arse fuck.

So after struggling today, what nice gentle task have I set myself up with tomorrow?
Driving the sodding X7 truck down to London & coming back in a piece of shit truck which will be ronnied good & proper.

I never learn!

In preparation for tomorrow I have had a soak in the bath, now tucked up in bed & have plied self with some painkillers to make sure I now kip for Britain.

Night night all. Think of me and my broken arse.

It's amazing what you don't notice...

The last time I remember using the land line phone at home was over a week ago & it was such a crap line I decided that any calls that were not 0845 jobbies I would use the mobile for in future.
Then there is that fact over these couple of weeks we have had no answer phone messages either. In fact now I think about it, not even any notice on the handsets of any calls either & I know full well I tried to leave myself a message to remind me to do something. Did it work? Not a jot.
So evidently our line has been down for well over a week. You really would have thought we would have noticed a bit sooner than this but alas no.

In fact I have really loved the peace and quiet.

I did finally report it to sky today (after quite a bit of testing about the house with various phones to make sure it wasn't just these bloody binatone phones I bought a couple of months continually being a complete pain in the arse.)
They have said they will get it fixed. I hope they don't hurry.

As for these bloody phones: Can anyone recommend a set of phones that do not do the 'me mer' noise when you put the handset in the charger?
The BT ones I had before & these binatone ones both do & randomly in the middle of the night go into complete mental mode 'mee mering' like a chuffing loon! Enough to make you get up and remove the sodding handset from the charger to get it to STFU.

Just a thought to save some minor amount of sanity I have left.

And I'm back in the room....

It's been a funny ole' working week.

There had been 'mutterings' around the office with reference to appointing an official fleet coordinator seeing as the role had previously been covered by 3 people randomly in the past of which never fully organised completely within the firm.

The post had initially be 'hoofed' towards another colleague who, knowing I have previous in the field came straight to me asking what the bloody hell they were talking about. This wasn't a bad thing because with me explaining it to her she realised she had no idea & also with her current role, wouldn't have time either.

She did the nicest thing possible for me and told big boss man he should throw it my way instead. This was all being mused over last week. We all had a chat, big boss man was going to make up his mind & in the mean time I would still be taking the larger vehicles in for MOT's this week being the only person available able to drive them.

Evidently it has progressed from driving a couple of trucks into a full blown 'way you go then' in pretty much 3 days. Can't be bad.

And have I like being here there and everywhere? Shifting our hefty old trucks about ready for tests & re-tests? I am bloody LOVING it
I am back in something I can really get my teeth into. It gets me out and about, driving all sorts of big random stuff and I have already come across peeps related to it I haven't seen for a few years too.

Life is good.
Lets hope it stays that way!

Broom broom!

Courgette muffins? Really? Are you nuts?

Oddly, not completely.
Posting this for who was probably as shocked as I was  you can make something as yummy as "Courgette Muffins"

Granted as with quite a lot of my cooking I do have a weeny bit of alcohol first but it's a proven fact in this house, anything produced my me involving a cook is a shit load better when I am pissed. Go figure.

I also think that 'Our Ness' will appreciate it too knowing she's grown a house full of the bloody things too this year.

I will say though, I did use the yellow courgette for mine, because they are a tiny bit sweeter than the green ones (and also because I am a lazy git I didn't bother peeling them first, not that it tells you to, but the thought of green bits in a muffin is just bloody wrong)

They are however REALLY yummy so I would give it a try!

If this isn't showing up clear enough, just shout!

A weekend of thrills & pain.

After Stupi the van throwing a bit of a wobbly Friday, with me expecting the whole weekend to go 'Pete Tong' on us big stylie it surprisingly turned out quite well in the end.

Yes we have two cars, but with the van going 'poof' & the Cheeky currently up on ramps waiting for a new axle gator, we were slightly up shit creek without a paddle. So in comes, with it's cape flowing, the saviour... the greenie meanie motorbike. *bless it*

Friday night we hopped on and had a quick look round a few car lots for a suitable replacement for the van (which, due to changing jobs was intending to sell anyway)

We spotted a nice little affordable Honda Accord, had a quick test drive & decided there and then that was the car for us. That's one thing sorted at least. (We have called it 'Lardy' being an automatic)

As this was all happening at 8pm we would have to postpone picking the car up until the Saturday afternoon to allow being able to get some cash etc.
***

So then came Saturday morning. And I was all excited and ready to toddle off to do the
at the old RAF Coltishall site.

We togged up, hopped on the bike and whizzed off to what can only be described as the best giggle you are able to do with your pants on.

The vehicles I did drive were:
AMG Mercedes (up to 120 on the runway)

Jolly in a land rover discovery round the off road course.

Another jolly round the off road course, this time in a tank
(unfortunately they wouldn't let us drive that so this chap Stewie did:)

Then one of these little buggers:

Also just for luck:
  Then the VERY air conditioned
A lovely little 1954  'Fergy'
A roller of some sort of which I cant find a picture for. *meh*
A wee little Lotus car of which whizzed down the runway at 140.....heh heh

I think there were some more but my brain is tired but the best was the last thing I did which was:
SKID PAN!!!!!

And yes, that is me in there :D

Apologies for the lack of photos from me but there were not many opportunities to get any decent ones myself but there was a photographer there and I've asked for a link to the pics when they are released.

A superb mornings fun, & I managed to raise over £200 for The Firefighters charity
