And round we go again....

It's been a funny old three weeks.

Started the new job, installing baby wind turbines. The actual job I was doing was installing the mast's, ready for the turbine boys to install their bit.

That was until last Thursday when they sent us 'mast boys' out to do some maintenance. This is the point I started to struggle with lifting of heavy equipment. It involves using a machine called a 'turfer' which is a hydraulic winch that raises and lowers the masts. That is a REALLY heavy bit of kit (two man lift)
And also come with its hydraulic generator/pump too. Another two man lift.

Thursday was the learning of maintenance for both me and the lad I work with. So come Monday when we were expected to do three turbines in a day I puffed, panted & drank way too much energy drink but got through. Also had a chat with my operations manager that I was really struggling with this side of the job (the lifting) explaining that I would physically break soon if kept at it, to which got a nice little speech about "we really need people who are all rounders who can do all aspects of the job" Fair enough but me suggesting maybe I could stay on the mast building, which I am quite capable of doing without causing myself a mischief, but no. He wasn't having a bar of it.

Imagine how excited when I went in on Tuesday to be told we were doing maintenance again. *sarcasm*

I did once again go out & give it my best shot but unfortunately managed to pull not only my ham string but strained the lateral calf muscle as well. And pulled a chunk of muscles between my shoulder blades. Hmm and I can honestly say it hurts like buggery.

I spoke to boss man Tuesday evening, bearing in mind I can hardly walk at this point - to be told that I wasn't to come in the next day & rest up.

I've since then been waiting for them to ring me (once the doctor confirmed the diagnosis) and finally, this afternoon he rang.

They will be terminating me on the installation side of the company, however have given all my details an credentials over to the planning department which I am also very much qualified to do & less likely to break anything about my person.

Not that anything will actually come about from this. I'm half expecting to now hear bugger all. So will certainly now start applying for jobs again.

So yes, I am on the mend, I will recover but I wont be putting up any more wind turbines.
Unfortunately.

I have survived a week!

Wonders will never cease eh?

Nah, to be honest I've really enjoyed it. It's a great job to have & hopefully they'll keep me on after the 3 month trial is up.

The only downsides to the job so far:

The hours - 07:00 until you finish, which so far has been 18:30 apart from today, where we did get away by 16:00.

The actual physical element of it, which is only a downside to me currently because I have spent far too many years being a lardy unfit twat basically.
So, hopefully with a few weeks with the amount of exercise i am now getting of which my body just isn't used to I will actually get back to a decent size and have an arse that isn't the size of two.

The one other thing which is more to do with me just being a clumsy clump, is I am covered in bruises! In fact I currently look like I've had ten buckets of fuck kicked out of me.

If you're even remotely interested in what I am physically installing this is the website for the company
www.windcrop.co.uk

So to be honest, my body is currently very broken but can only get better and improve. Now that I will be very happy with.

So there we are. I'm knackered but really chuffed. Makes a bloody change!

Bloody typical isn't it? Three buses at once syndrome.

Apologies for the format. Blogging on phone as I can't be arsed to go & get the laptop.

Ok, quick update, seeing as once again I've been utterly pants in getting thumb to phone as such.

I was fired in May. In a way I am glad I was. The reason was, as an insulation surveyor for local councils, if the houses you are surveying don't actually need any work done & you state this on your survey (in other words not bringing any work in) they don't like it.
Well I'm sorry but if telling the truth is wrong, then I'm glad I was fired.

Bollocks to them. Well that and the fact I've worked for some back stabbing bitchy weird small businesses but these people took the biscuit.
That and they 'forgot' to pay me my last months pay initially. Oddly, I didn't let them forget.

So I've been unemployed again for 2 months. Been through the usual of claiming JSA with the track suited Argos jewellery with pushchairs minions. That and the usual applying for anything and everything without so much as a reply to an application, let alone a fucking interview.

It does thankfully now stop being a whinging sack of shit post into a 'and finally' good news.

A job I applied for back at the beginning of June, re-advertised again this week. So instead of emailing again just rang them. After a brief chat was asked to re-submit my CV. Called back & asked to go to an interview Thursday morning.

Nothing frightening, in fact nice and relaxed. Left expecting to not hear diddly again.

They rang me Friday morning. Offered me the job & if the could wangle it could I start this Monday!

Excellent stuff. The job is a trainee wind turbine installer. A nice physical job so I can start to lose some of this lardy fat I've acquired whilst sitting on my arse.

I'm REALLY looking forward to being back on the tools again. About time too I you ask me.

So the reason for my Three buses title?

This week, I arranged with my neighbours who will be going on holiday for a week that I would walk their four German shepherds daily. (the people dog sitting are not quite 'trusted enough' for this task.

So now, with starting the new job at 07:15 I will then be walking them too when I get home. bleeding hell.

Oh well,
Life is good.

Once again.

It's good to remember.

Today would have been my Dad's 68th birthday,
had he still have been with us.

Its odd realising over the last 4 years without him how much has changed, mainly because he's not actually here but also the fact it was his demise that has brought about said changes.

Yes, I do still miss him terribly. I hate the fact that I never had the chance to introduce him to Simon (not that it bothers me that much, as I just know he would approve of him, which is why I'm keeping him)

I hate the fact that there are still so many things I would have liked to ask him, I imagine what he would be like now if he was still alive and always wonder if at some point he would have physically strangled my mother :D

The good thing is whenever I do now remember him, which is still often, the memories are always bloody good ones, which leave you with that childish smirk across your face just picturing him laughing.

That - and he would certainly not have approved of anyone moping about on account of him.

I suppose this is what people say that time heals all wounds. Yes, I suppose it does but time also helps gets things into perspective too and in the words of the William Shatner song "were all gonna die"

Life is short, we know this & hopefully you are all making the ultimate most of the life that you do have, if you're not...stop fucking moaning and
 DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Happy Birthday Dad.

Oh you utter fuck knuckle of a day.

Now that's just mean.

Today I did a nice thing for my 'old 'old' old' boss. He rang this morning stating he had been having a little bit of an office desk shuffle about & now his internet wasn't working. Nothing new about this at all, happens roughly every 5-6 months. Normally (as in today's case) he's unplugged the ethernet cables & put them back in the wrong places.

Sorted that out, even set up the wireless side of it so he could play using wifi on his new phone and toddled off to get a quick bit of shopping then home again.

That's when the fun started.

On the only bit of dual carriageway on the way home, I did have to gun the car slightly as some muppet was trying to filter onto a 70mph bit of road doing 35mph.

This is the point when my wee Honda Accord went utterly batshit crazy. Flashing lights on the dashboard, a virtual 'car disco' even down to the drivers side electric window doing a little jig up and down.
I slowed down to 50 to which the light show did seem to calm slightly, leaving me with the dreaded battery light still on.

Bugger. The alternators fucked then.

On the plus side, after googling the faults, seems that its actually quite a common thing of which can sometimes screw up diagnosis by throwing in other faults however this one is pretty much clear cut & I will have to get another sodding one.

& being me, I'm fitting the bugger myself.

That's it. I'm having a cup of tea.

A lightening cloud with a silver lining...

(In the shape of a lightening conductor)

I've had some really tricky situations to deal with this week with regards to work.
One of which was an invite to a 'work girls night out' at the house of one of the women there in May.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the majority of the 5 lasses at work but the thought of spending an evening being girlie really didn't appeal and I was really struggling to come up with a genuinely good reason as to why I couldn't attend.
I was thinking my favourite excuse of 'my legs on fire' would soon be sussed right out on return to work the next few days.

However, thanks to a bit of divine intervention in the shape of my boss and his lack of ability to be anything other than a moany gusset, he has actually done something for me that is in fact REALLY useful!
He sacked/fired/made me redundant, call it what you will but after 2 months of being told he could make as much money with just two surveyors & trimming out fitting staff it didn't really come as much of a surprise or shock at all. In fact I've awoken today with such an amazing uplifted outlook again that I'm really quite relieved.

Well that really cant be bad now can it?

Moan moan moan, that's all she ever does....

My absolute pants of a week has just been finished off hook line and sinker courtesy of my lovely neighbours.

So I have now decided to allow you how the whole week has panned out as to why I have decided to have a bit of a mini melt & rant.

The thing that started it all off this week at work was the fact that for the second time in as many weeks my boss stated "I don't need to keep you working here, I could go down to 2 surveyors, also get rid of the fitter teams that just give me shit & STILL make as much money.

OK, thanks for that mate & making me feel utterly useless and demoralised. Made my week that. However on the plus side, I have been kind enough to give the tosser 3 strikes, so if I hear that same sentence once more, the immortal words that will then follow from me will be....

"why don't you just fucking do it then mate and stop just moaning about it?"

Granted, after Thursday I had pretty much gone into the very much 'past caring' stage & couldn't give a monkeys fuck either way what he did. Time will tell just how that will pan out of the next few weeks.

So then we have the Easter weekend to contend with. Friday, I spent the day building and fitting a base for Mumsies new shed on her allotment, Came back Saturday with OH and his big ole' van and we very kindly erected said very cheap and nasty shed for her.
What did we get today? A phone call stating the door hadn't been fitted properly.

Thanks Mum. Really appreciated that too.

So then we get to my whinge for today.

Over the last few months there have been 'issues' with various neighbours regarding the access lane that runs beside my house.

This lane belongs to NONE of them, but they are all whinging like fuckers about who's blocking it, restricting access & he said she said and all the other bollocks that normally happens with these sorts of things.

Funny thing is I'VE done my homework & the land in question belongs to a local housing association. No one has permission to have access over it and if they continue arguing and getting said housing association involved they will stop everyone using it and all will be fucked and unable to use it.

Today has been funny;
We've had rage
anger
threats
tears
and all sorts of utter stupidity all of which can be cured easily enough by people just being polite & courteous to their fellow man.

That isn't going to happen as long as I have a hole in my arse, so from now on I am just going to sit back, sip my vodka & just laugh at them all acting like a bunch of fucking kids.

Give me strength!
