I'm at a loss...

Ok, I admit.

Maybe my priorities are slightly out of sync on occasion but this weekend, something has happened leaving me quite, well, mortified if I am honest.

It started yesterday when we decided to toddle off to Southwold for a walk on the beach and the town. This was in fact mainly because we wanted to see how many posh toffs would look down their noses at us. We got bored after the first 25 and stopped counting.

We arrived and the first thing I normally do when slapped round the face with a quite pretty photo opportunity, that is...
camera to the ready and....
This is Southwold and for some reason my fucking bastard blog will not allow me to rotate portrait photos

Yes, apart from the fact you need to crick your neck to the right to see the bloody thing, its as we say round here "Roite noice"

So imagine my UTTER delight when trying to take the next shot, my camera gave me this:

As much as I would like to say that this is some kind of 'designer effect' that my camera has to make the scene look like a 50's style thing I can't.

Yes, this is my camera now pretty much utterly fucked.

Bollocks.

Annoyingly, we did go for another 'camera perfect' wander again today, this time to Caister on Sea. No idea why there but had to use my iPhone 3GS's camera.

Seriously, LOOK AT IT! I just want to cry really.

I am now camera-less, with no money to buy another one.

Life has truly hit rock bottom.

It hasn't really, a man called Felix just jumped out of a capsule under a sodding balloon at approx 128 THOUSAND FEET

Shit, that was impressive to watch!

My psychic ringpiece is twitching.

You know the feeling, when someone explains to you a situation where whatever the outcome. you are pretty much screwed whatever the outcome.

The end of this month (Friday) is when the 'temporary' bit of my latest work runs out.
The Head of department said to me Monday that she had no idea as to what was likely to happen. That's handy, thanks luv.

Then today, she said that they could not guarantee me a post and they will be able to offer me work on a week to week basis. Which if you ask me is pretty fucking cheeky.

My first reaction which pleased said boss lady (as it would seeing at they are totally using me) that I will stay for next week, then her face dropped slightly when I stated... but I will be looking elsewhere.

Seriously though. Who honestly thinks anyone will happily work with no notice period at least? That's just mental.

The weird part of it all is they have ordered me a new PC which arrived today. Granted I have no desk and am now sharing the end of said boss woman's desk which is weird in one way but seriously, how much can this woman wiggle a fucking desk? Its random. You have to hand onto it at some points or my monitors will go for a burton off the desk!

To say that the whole situation is utterly confusing is an understatement.

In fact, making my head hurt!

Tight enough that I won't part with my own blood...

I've always been the proverbial 'stone' when it came to getting blood out of me in the past, even my local doctors surgery has only one nurse who's allowed to pin cushion me these days as she is for want of a better word... bloody good at it.

So imagine my delight today, after 3 days of having the squits, headaches, nausea, stomach cramps & eventually last night chest pains on a quick visit to the quack I am whisked up to the local hospital for tests & a general check up - which happened to also include a shitload of saline solution intravenously due to me being dehydrated.

What a treat!

I warned the first doctor to have a 'stab' excuse the pun, that I was a bugger to get blood out of but she had a good try... 6 tries.
Then the nurse bloke had a go... another 5 tries,
Then the resident doctor... 2 times in the arms... then she suggested the groin...

I could have died at the moment they did that, Most painful thing ever - even breaking my bleeding wrist back in 2002 didn't hurt that much!

Eventually they sent a Dr called Andrew in who is obviously their expert on awkward buggers & he did manage to get the second cannula fitted & managed to remove enough blood to actually be able to test.
Now that was a relief.

The rest of the day has been comprised of an ECG, which was fine. A chest x-ray, also fine & enough saline solution pumped into me to warrant a possible ark construction.

The fact that they did also want me to have an overnight stay didn't really bode too well, so after they witnessed the fact that I wasn't vomiting & also drinking plenty of fluids myself they were happy to send me home.

Don't get me wrong, after 48 hours of nowt to eat I actually appreciated the scary hospital food as I was utterly famished by then also being quite exhausted from being a human pin cushion did manage to get some shut eye whilst in there and so pleased that I would be able to spend the night in my own bed, near my own toilet certainly makes you feel a load better.

Lesson learnt?

Never under any circumstance let anyone try to take blood from your groin.

Also, why have one cannula when you can have two???
*Insert sarcasm here*

Bruised? I should say so.

And round we go again....

It's been a funny old three weeks.

Started the new job, installing baby wind turbines. The actual job I was doing was installing the mast's, ready for the turbine boys to install their bit.

That was until last Thursday when they sent us 'mast boys' out to do some maintenance. This is the point I started to struggle with lifting of heavy equipment. It involves using a machine called a 'turfer' which is a hydraulic winch that raises and lowers the masts. That is a REALLY heavy bit of kit (two man lift)
And also come with its hydraulic generator/pump too. Another two man lift.

Thursday was the learning of maintenance for both me and the lad I work with. So come Monday when we were expected to do three turbines in a day I puffed, panted & drank way too much energy drink but got through. Also had a chat with my operations manager that I was really struggling with this side of the job (the lifting) explaining that I would physically break soon if kept at it, to which got a nice little speech about "we really need people who are all rounders who can do all aspects of the job" Fair enough but me suggesting maybe I could stay on the mast building, which I am quite capable of doing without causing myself a mischief, but no. He wasn't having a bar of it.

Imagine how excited when I went in on Tuesday to be told we were doing maintenance again. *sarcasm*

I did once again go out & give it my best shot but unfortunately managed to pull not only my ham string but strained the lateral calf muscle as well. And pulled a chunk of muscles between my shoulder blades. Hmm and I can honestly say it hurts like buggery.

I spoke to boss man Tuesday evening, bearing in mind I can hardly walk at this point - to be told that I wasn't to come in the next day & rest up.

I've since then been waiting for them to ring me (once the doctor confirmed the diagnosis) and finally, this afternoon he rang.

They will be terminating me on the installation side of the company, however have given all my details an credentials over to the planning department which I am also very much qualified to do & less likely to break anything about my person.

Not that anything will actually come about from this. I'm half expecting to now hear bugger all. So will certainly now start applying for jobs again.

So yes, I am on the mend, I will recover but I wont be putting up any more wind turbines.
Unfortunately.

I have survived a week!

Wonders will never cease eh?

Nah, to be honest I've really enjoyed it. It's a great job to have & hopefully they'll keep me on after the 3 month trial is up.

The only downsides to the job so far:

The hours - 07:00 until you finish, which so far has been 18:30 apart from today, where we did get away by 16:00.

The actual physical element of it, which is only a downside to me currently because I have spent far too many years being a lardy unfit twat basically.
So, hopefully with a few weeks with the amount of exercise i am now getting of which my body just isn't used to I will actually get back to a decent size and have an arse that isn't the size of two.

The one other thing which is more to do with me just being a clumsy clump, is I am covered in bruises! In fact I currently look like I've had ten buckets of fuck kicked out of me.

If you're even remotely interested in what I am physically installing this is the website for the company
www.windcrop.co.uk

So to be honest, my body is currently very broken but can only get better and improve. Now that I will be very happy with.

So there we are. I'm knackered but really chuffed. Makes a bloody change!

Bloody typical isn't it? Three buses at once syndrome.

Apologies for the format. Blogging on phone as I can't be arsed to go & get the laptop.

Ok, quick update, seeing as once again I've been utterly pants in getting thumb to phone as such.

I was fired in May. In a way I am glad I was. The reason was, as an insulation surveyor for local councils, if the houses you are surveying don't actually need any work done & you state this on your survey (in other words not bringing any work in) they don't like it.
Well I'm sorry but if telling the truth is wrong, then I'm glad I was fired.

Bollocks to them. Well that and the fact I've worked for some back stabbing bitchy weird small businesses but these people took the biscuit.
That and they 'forgot' to pay me my last months pay initially. Oddly, I didn't let them forget.

So I've been unemployed again for 2 months. Been through the usual of claiming JSA with the track suited Argos jewellery with pushchairs minions. That and the usual applying for anything and everything without so much as a reply to an application, let alone a fucking interview.

It does thankfully now stop being a whinging sack of shit post into a 'and finally' good news.

A job I applied for back at the beginning of June, re-advertised again this week. So instead of emailing again just rang them. After a brief chat was asked to re-submit my CV. Called back & asked to go to an interview Thursday morning.

Nothing frightening, in fact nice and relaxed. Left expecting to not hear diddly again.

They rang me Friday morning. Offered me the job & if the could wangle it could I start this Monday!

Excellent stuff. The job is a trainee wind turbine installer. A nice physical job so I can start to lose some of this lardy fat I've acquired whilst sitting on my arse.

I'm REALLY looking forward to being back on the tools again. About time too I you ask me.

So the reason for my Three buses title?

This week, I arranged with my neighbours who will be going on holiday for a week that I would walk their four German shepherds daily. (the people dog sitting are not quite 'trusted enough' for this task.

So now, with starting the new job at 07:15 I will then be walking them too when I get home. bleeding hell.

Oh well,
Life is good.

Once again.

It's good to remember.

Today would have been my Dad's 68th birthday,
had he still have been with us.

Its odd realising over the last 4 years without him how much has changed, mainly because he's not actually here but also the fact it was his demise that has brought about said changes.

Yes, I do still miss him terribly. I hate the fact that I never had the chance to introduce him to Simon (not that it bothers me that much, as I just know he would approve of him, which is why I'm keeping him)

I hate the fact that there are still so many things I would have liked to ask him, I imagine what he would be like now if he was still alive and always wonder if at some point he would have physically strangled my mother :D

The good thing is whenever I do now remember him, which is still often, the memories are always bloody good ones, which leave you with that childish smirk across your face just picturing him laughing.

That - and he would certainly not have approved of anyone moping about on account of him.

I suppose this is what people say that time heals all wounds. Yes, I suppose it does but time also helps gets things into perspective too and in the words of the William Shatner song "were all gonna die"

Life is short, we know this & hopefully you are all making the ultimate most of the life that you do have, if you're not...stop fucking moaning and
 DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Happy Birthday Dad.
